The International Manufacturing-X Council (IMX Council) has been awarded the Excellence Prize for Data Ecosystems by the Spanish industry association BAI-Data.
The award was presented during the BAI-Data Conference in recognition of the Council’s pioneering work in fostering globally aligned data spaces in manufacturing.

Dominik Rohrmus accepted the award on behalf of the Council.

In the award speech, the jury praised the IMX Council for its international orientation from the outset, highlighting its efforts to coordinate standards, use cases, and national programs across borders. A particular emphasis was placed on the Council’s commitment to fair international collaboration, enabling national priorities to be addressed within a transparent and cooperative global framework.

Prior to the award ceremony, a panel discussion explored how data ecosystems can deliver tangible business value in manufacturing. The panel focused on practical applications such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and traceability across supply chains—key use cases that showcase the power of interoperable, sovereign data spaces.

The discussion featured:

  • Laurent Lafaye, Data4Industry-X

  • Matthias Boelke, Chairman of the Board, IDTA

  • Dominik Rohrmus, IMX Council

Moderation: Lars Nagel, CEO, International Data Spaces Association (IDSA)

The award follows in the footsteps of Catena-X, last year’s recipient, which has since demonstrated the commercial and strategic potential of industrial data ecosystems.

With this recognition, the IMX Council strengthens its position as a leading force in shaping internationally scalable, open, and sovereign data infrastructures for the manufacturing industry.
